I just noticed the Terri Schiavo has died today. How strange that this woman, who might have lived a rather uneventful existance (much like the rest of us) , has given a legacy of reawakening to the moral struggles of our age.
One of the issues, although not the primary one, is that of the [...]

Proof of Intelligent Discussion
March 31st, 2005 · No Comments · Controversy
I read the opinion from several bloggers, most notably SC&A, that there is little real discussion on the Schiavo case. Or something to that effect. I feel that those who think that way are frustrated with the present tense on the subject. I sympathize.
Anyway, I thought I would pass on this post and the numerous [...]

Look at this phrase:”The Culture of Life”.
I mean, really look at it, folks. The Culture Of Life.
Ok. Besides the obviously illogical construction of the thought…like what do you know of a Culture of Death? or is there culture without life or odd thoughts like that…. it holds a whole world of innuendo that somehow [...]

Let Me Break It Down for You

the question has changed within the medical community. It used to be that patients argued for the right to decide against extreme medical measures, but now it is the ethics board, the doctors, and the courts who are often pitted against those who desire more of life. The ground has shifted and many are just now realizing that. Once we are well past the crossroads of making the policies now, we will find it difficult to track back.

Remember

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have [...]

Why You Are So Special

repost from 2/05
Philosophically speaking there can be only two views on this. Either humanity has something that sets it apart from the rest of creation, or it is a glitch in the system, some oddity that has produced beings that are self-aware and concerned with their “meaning” in a chance and thus impersonal universe. A [...]

Let your goodness shine through.
That’s right. I’ve walked in Pink Kitty’s shoes, online in one instance in particular. I was on a list with numerous pagans. It was [...]

Tragic Truths

Sand in the Gears :
“The tragedy is that Terri’s parents simply want their daughter back from the man who promised to care for her, but who backed away from his promise. It appears that they can’t have her.”
Tony Woodlief speaks sad truth. Many of us are crying and will cry- for our various reasons- and [...]

Plugging In…To the Euthanasia Issue
March 21st, 2005 · No Comments · Controversy
Because there is so much discussion surrounding the Schiavo case, I felt that some further clarification of thought would be useful.
I’ve read comments from people I respect, and some from those I am indifferent to, which speak of the “passive euthanasia” or “right to die”, and similar phrases. There are often personal anecdotes of [...]
